Lauren Bayer is a Licensed Professional Counselor working at Apple Counseling and Consulting. She is passionate about helping people access mental health support and providing education about the therapeutic process. 

After graduating from Texas A&M University-Commerce with an masters of science in Community Counseling, Lauren spent a year working with families affected by domestic violence, in order to dedicate more time to working with the LGBTQIA+ community she switching to private practice four years ago. She works with anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, life transitions, gender identity, sexual orientation, career/education choices, family of origin issues, domestic violence, and relationship issues. She believes in working with her clients as an entire person and not as a diagnosis.

As a young adult Lauren began attending counseling for the first time and the support from that counselor and others afterwards, were one of the big reasons she decided to become a counselor. Her experience coming to terms with her own identity as a queer woman, developed a passion for providing affirming care for the LGBTQIA+ community. When she isn’t working Lauren enjoys board games, reading, crafting and bakes an awesome snickerdoodle. She lives with her wife, two dogs and a cat.
